For our Bass Guitar Strings, we wanted to focus on the bottom end—you know, the sound they made the bass guitar for? While these strings certainly don’t sound dull or flubby, our bass guitar strings do feature most prominently on the bottom end of the tonal spectrum, and we absolutely love them for it.
Much of this is due to the fact that we utilize round cores in our 4, 5 and 6 string bass sets, which gives them a rounder, smoother tonality and a silky, flexible feel.
The ends of our bass guitar strings are quarter wound the way they’d typically be on a silked bass string, but we leave off the silk (largely for aesthetic purposes, we just don’t like the look of silk when it gets old and ratty on a headstock). Fear not, this won’t cause any problems or damage to your tuning pegs, but it will ensure that your strings anchor perfectly to the tuning post, which means better tuning stability and less breakage.
If you’ve been searching for a set of bass guitar strings that will give you that boomy, vintage tone, look no further.
