Stringjoy 8 String Balanced Light Gauge (10-80) Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings

$15.90

All of our 8 string electric guitar strings are handmade in the USA from all-american nickel and steel.

Once you find the perfect strings for you, we’ll inspect, coil, and package them by hand. Soon you’ll be playing the best strings you’ve ever played — the perfect set for your playing style — and you’ll never want to go back to playing the same strings everybody else gets off the rack.

The most frequent comments we hear about our string sets? How balanced they feel across the fretboard. How warm and consistent they sound fresh out of the pack. How well they hold tune right from the first time you tune up.

The best part? We offer an ironclad guarantee on all of our strings. Your guitar will sound and play better than ever before. If not, return your strings for a replacement or a refund. You have nothing to lose, and a world of tone to gain!

What do the P’s and W’s mean?

  • All gauges lighter than .018 are plain steel, all heavier than .026 are nickel wound.
  • On gauges where we overlap, a “p” signifies plain steel, a “w” signifies a wound string.
  • So, if you see a .020w, that’s a wound string. A .020p is a plain string. If it doesn’t have either letter we only offer it as a wound string (if it’s heavier than .026) or a plain steel string (if it’s lighter than .018). Got it? Good.

How long are your strings?

  • All our strings are at least 41″ from ball-end to tip. They’ll fit extended range and baritone guitars no problem.
  • Gauges heavier than .062 have a slight taper at 37″ from the ball end, and can also be unwound to fit into smaller tuning pegs, with a pair of needlenose pliers. If you’re having to do that often, it’s better to have a tech file out your tuning peg.

To put it simply, fresh strings, made with quality materials and genuine care just sound and play better.

  • Stringjoy guitar strings are made by a small team in the USA, out of all American materials: top quality nickel alloy, hand wound around a high carbon steel core wire.
  • The combination of better materials and more careful craftsmanship creates a more natural-sounding, longer lasting string, without the tone-deadening effects of string coatings.
  • We’re known for our quality control. Our strings are wound in small batches, and we use real human beings at every step of the process: the winding, the coiling, the packing, you name it.
  • Every string is inspected individually before it goes into your set. If anything is wrong with a string, from the way it’s secured around the ball end, through the entire winding, it doesn’t make the cut.

What does a higher quality set of guitar strings mean for you?

✓ Better tuning stability for the life of the string
✓ Longer string life and less breakage, when cared for properly
✓ Smoother, more balanced playability across the neck of the guitar

Our guarantee is what we say it is. If anything does not perform to your satisfaction, return it for a replacement or refund. No hassle, no worries.

I play a Kiesel Vader V8 in drop E and these strings provide great tension throughout the whole range. They have a great feel to them. I also like ordering from Stringjoy because they are a small business and I feel more of a connection to this company than one of the giants. They have included a handwritten thank you note in every package I’ve ordered from them. Everyone should buy Stringjoy strings!

literally the best strings I’ve ever played! Other brands got nothing on these guys.

  3. I’d been playing a similar set for about a year (except it had like a .070 on the bottom, i think?). Well, this one kills that one, I don’t know how I was getting by with such floppy string, now mine feel strong, even, and playable.

  4. If you are used to a standard 10-46 set for your 6 strings, this is the perfect set for your 8 string. It feels just the same, very balanced, bendable, but more fleshed out. I did have to unwind a bit of the .080 to get it into the tuning peg on my guitar, even with the taper, but I have incredibly small holes on my tuning pegs.

How much does shipping cost?

All US orders ship free, so long as they’re over $8. Alaska and Hawaii too. Simple as that. No tax (except for our fellow TN residents), no extra handling charges, nothing.

We do ship internationally as well, though unfortunately we can’t do it for free. There’s some more info on all that at the bottom of this tab.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

All string and pick orders ship within 2 business days, most within 1 business day (Monday – Friday, minus postal holidays). We want to get your gear out as quickly as possible, but we will not rush the process.

The most important thing to us is that everything in your order is perfect, and that’s why we take the time to put together and inspect each individual order by hand.

Do you ship outside of the US?

We’ll ship most anywhere in the world. Our site will automatically calculate the shipping costs on the checkout page. Typically, when shipping internationally it’s best to order a few things at a time to better spread out the shipping cost over the whole order, rather than paying to ship one set of strings halfway across the world.

Due to the wealth of country tax and tariff codes, any import duties or fees are the responsibility of the purchaser.

International orders can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to arrive. We will ship every order with a tracking code, but not all countries update the tracking once the package arrives in its destination country. But as always, if you have any trouble with your order, we’re here to help.
